Kay Lyn Carlson, LMSW, President and Founder

 

Education and Experience:

  • Washburn University, Topeka, KS – B.A. (1999) and M.S.W. (2000) degrees in Social Work
  • Founder and Director of Choose Grace International
  • Reproductive Loss and Sexual Trauma Network leader for American Association of Christian Counselors
  • Concepts of Truth International, part-time crisis phone counselor
  • Former counselor at Christ First Counseling Center, Topeka, KS – provided individual, family and group counseling. Also coordinated and presented Marriage Conference, Women’s leader for Celebrate Recovery
  • Founder and former Director of ARC (Abortion Recovery Center), Topeka, KS. Offered individual, couples, and group counseling and provided professional continuing educational and awareness events on the detrimental effects of abortion.
  • Former Kansas state leader for Operation Outcry
  • Former board member for Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Shawnee County, Kansas
  • Local and National speaker: United Nations, American Association of Christian Counselors, Heartbeat International, Operation Outcry, and at various women’s conferences and church groups.

  • Married to Carl since 1983 and have three grown children.
  • Currently involved in writing curriculum for Healing from a Reproductive Loss and a Memoir of her recovery journey through Choosing God’s Grace due out early 2019.

 

Dina Jones, M.A., Vice President

 

Dina Jones is a Christ follower, wife, mom and gifted integrator. She is passionate about family, career, and hospitality. Her undergraduate degree in Religion: Women’s Leadership and her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling are from Liberty University. Her career background includes mental health counseling, career coaching, and serving as the Director of Public Relations for the American Association of Christian Counselors. She is a speaker and the co-author of Be Fearless.

Alexa Mealey, BS Psychology, Director of Administration

 

Alexa Mealey is the Director of Administration for Choose Grace International. She graduated with honors from Liberty University in December 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology: Substance Abuse Counseling. Currently, she is a Graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Liberty University. Previously, she worked with the American Association of Christian Counselors within the Public Relations and Marketing/Communications department and has partnered with Christian Counselors and researchers nationwide on AACC conferences and projects. Alexa is passionate about removing shame and guilt from individuals lives and replacing it with God’s grace. She is prepared to serve and support those who need building up in difficult seasons of life.

Summer Sheehan, Director of Communications

 

Summer Sheehan is an undergraduate student in her senior year at Liberty University, completing her degree in Integrated Communications and minors in Psychology, Business, and Music (Vocal Performance). Assisting with the development of our social media platforms, Summer comes to Choose Grace International having completed a successful internship at the American Association of Christian Counselors. Originally from Stillwater, New York, she has enjoyed her time in Virginia and is honored to be a part of a ministry with a purpose in reaching the broken-hearted and restoring grace in the hearts of women internationally.
